This week we will start our Advent Countdown Calendar. We have a cabinet with 24 drawers that I fill with candy somedays and notes others. I have always tried to have a good mix of fun, education, and candy, however, In 2006 I only did candy. Yesterday Zane and Taylor started talking about how much fun our Advent Calender "used to be" and when I said it will be fun again Zane replied "No it won't because you are working now." Ah.. guilt.. such a Christmas-y emotion! I haven't taken out the cabinet yet but tomorrow we will officially start the season.
Hanukkah also begins this week, December 4th through the 12th, and we will having a celebration Saturday night. When I was a teen I spent one night of Hanukkah with my best friend's family each year and it's a tradition I have tried to continue with my own children. I feel it is very important that they grow up appreciating and understanding other religious traditions, as well as learning about the foundations of their own religion.

I've still got to pick out my latke recipe for the brunch we're having with my in-laws on Sunday. Have a swell week!
Wasn't the snow lovely. We got 4" at my house Saturday night. Of course, now it's all melting along with the floods. Delicious menu as always. You know I love the crock pot.
just so you know, your blog format does not look right. I love the background and it may be the fact that I use mozilla as my browser, but I can't hardly read anything.
Mrs G - I'm jealous.. we just barely got enough to turn the grass white. Now the grass is under 4" of water. grrrr!
Ms Teacher - Uh oh... I was so proud of myself for messing around with my background and getting it right. LOL I guess I'd better figure out why it looks weird to you.
Snow ... I'm jealous. We get nothing for years, and then 20" gets dumped, the power goes out for a week, and everyone becomes bitter. Still, I'd like to see some fluffy flakes everynow and then.
Quiche and quesadillas a big in my house. They're a great way to use leftovers.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I enjoyed reading through yours!
Your menu looks delicious! Thank you for visiting and commenting!
I didn't want you to think I was being picky and was worried after I hit publish. I loved the background - do you think you use it?
I didn't think you were being picky at all! I loved it too but I also don't want to make the blog impossible to read. Thank you for letting me know. Can you see everything now? This is the same template, I just reverted back to the default background.
yup, I can read it ;)
