Menu Plan Monday

Ever wonder why the title of the blog is Ginaagain, and again, and again? Back in the old days of newsgroups and chat rooms I was occasionally hit on by guys who thought my screen name was an invitation of sorts. But it wasn't. And I'm mean to guys who hit on me. Ginaagain is actually a reference to my mobius strip sort of life. Round and round I go, thinking I'm actually getting somewhere, but, far too often, I end up back where I started. Gina... do it again and again. Until I get it right. So, knowing this about me it shouldn't be any surprise to see me doing Menu Plan Monday again. I know that menu planning is a good idea but I'm not very good at planning anything. Oh well. Now you know something new about me.

Here's the menu for the coming week.

Monday - Summer Rolls- shrimp and veggie, Chilled Thai Noodle Salad with Peanut Dressing

Tuesday - Spaghetti with Red Sauce, Meatballs, Salad

Wednesday - Pork, Pineapple, and Pepper Skewers with Rice and Grilled Zucchini

Thursday - Vegetarian Paella, Grilled Chicken Legs and Corn on the Cob

Friday - Make Your Own Pizza

Saturday - Finnish Summer Soup- Kësakeitto, Sandwiches

Sunday - Fajita Salad

Thanks to Laura at Orgjunkie.com for hosting Menu Plan Monday. Go check out her site lots of great menus.

Hey GIna,

Have you made that Summer soup before? It sounds intriguing. Let me know how it turns out!

No, I haven't tried it yet. I'm trying to find new vegetarian items that my whole family will eat so I'm trying a lot of new things.

Very interesting menu. I think I would pick Monday's as my favorite.

OMG, I've never even thought of that about your name... so I suppose I'm not as demented as I thought LOL!

Great menu plan Gina. That Thai Noodle Salad jumped at me too!

Hi Gina! That all sounds great. I love having a menu planned out, but hardly ever do it. Who's the vegetarian? I'm doin' that Freston chick's cleanse. We were vegetarians before kids, and I'm thinking of going back. I feel better after 5 1/2 days of cleanse. :)

Karen, I should stress that most of the people who commented on the questionable nature of my screen name were the kinds of men who sleezed through chat rooms in the early 90's. You know, the ones who thought that any woman who knew how to work a computer was either gay or looking for cybersex? I'd be having an inciteful conversation on transcendental literature and it's effects on cyberpunk in the "writer's lounge" and some jerk would come in and say something witty like "Hey! I want some gin again too!" Or "Gina-again? Can't get enough, huh baby?" The fact that I kept the silly screen name for fourteen years is a testament to my stubborn nature.

Laura, Zane and Taylor decided that they were going to be vegetarian in May and have been very faithful to their new values. I think it's important to honor their choice by making sure that they don't have to just eat the potatoes of a traditional meat and potatoes diet. I'm actually thankful that they have given me motivation to be a little more adventuresome with my cooking.

My sister does this religiously. Have you ever read her blog? She's Katrine at www.squibsandcrackers.com
