Putting aside childish things...

On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord. On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics. We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things.
President Barack Obama, Inaugural Address, January 20, 2009

I was so proud of my country today and so proud of the man that we elected. President Obama gives me hope for the future. I am ready to follow his lead. Ready to make hard choices and help prepare our nation for a new age!

Right after I finish being childish one last time...

Nananana ... hard to believe such an ... almost endearing goofball could wreke such global havoc.

What an inspiration, such high expectations, but I somehow get the feeling that he and the nation, won't disappoint.

The one interesting thing I've heard in recent weeks, is that WITHOUT the, uh, endearing goofball (as Laura has so aptly put), and the mess he made of things, there may not have been as great an outcry for change, and the times may not have been quite ready for President Obama...

But that maybe a tad generous ;).

Did you hear the crowd singing that song as the helicopter flew away?

With all due respect...what a doofus.

Jason, as himself said...

Sigh. This buffoon has lent himself so well to being made fun of. So well.

I, too, am happy and hopeful.

It is an amazing new era! And I think you're allowed that kind of childishness.

"goofu"..."doofball"..."buffoon"...I was thinking KNUCKLEHEAD.
Some students and I were talking yesterday and one said that they thought that his sense of humor was wonderful....to which I replied.."yes, maybe, but many times that you thought he was being funny, he was just being natural...being "funny" was not his intent."
Personally....George might be a lot of fun to go drinking with...and you know we could get him to pay for all the drinks!!

Yeah for America...for finally making the right decision!!!

Bush completely brings out the rotten child in me too. He is such a buffoon. Glad that Washington has a grown-up in charge.
