Felt... what?

More interesting discoveries while browsing crafting websites.

This is 100% wool felt. It's pretty nice stuff but I'm a bit concerned about what the crafting store suggests you do with it...

  • 100% Wool felt fabric perfect for reproductive costumes and apparel projects!
  • 100% Wool
  • 36" Wide; Cut in Whole Yd Increments

It would have been wiser to say "historical costumes" or even "period costumes" but "reproductive costumes" just sounds awful. I did a little searching and, frighteningly enough, I did indeed find some reproductive costumes... and they weren't pretty. I don't think any of them were made of wool felt either.

Ahahahahahaha! "Reproductive costumes!" My reproductive costume days are over, thank god. I can pass all of my reproductive costumes to my daughter. (Oh, gross. A Hope Chest of reproductive costumes.)

What on earth did you find when you googled?? Fallopian tube costumes? Wait. Not sure I really want to know ...

Yes, now I see giant felted sperm. Nice.

Debbie, that is a really cool website. Thanks!

Laura, reproductive hope chest? eww. In my ten minute covert search found all of the basic reproductive organs in costume, although the fallopian tubes were missing, the weirdest had to be the circumsized clitoris.. People certainly are creative.

Mrs G, sorry for the mental images..
